A bright, spacious contemporary extension to accommodate a growing family with aspirations for a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living space.

The addition utilised valuable space to the side of the existing dwelling by demolishing a disused carport, garage and dilapidated shed. The design solution was a large single-storey side and rear extension, with Shuo Sugi Ban charred timber facades. Large clear-glazed sliding doors maximise the visual and physical connection to the garden.
